At Prairie Brae we raise some of the finest Miniature Donkeys
and can help you choose the best one for your needs - whether it be for
performance competition or as a companion animal. Check here often as we will
be posting young stock for sale as they are available. Thumbnail pictures link
to a larger version.
Our 2009 foal group was the first progeny from The Elms Thunderboom. Foals from the specially selected Jennets are very nice. We have both jennets and geldings available for sale in the spring/summer of 2010.
It is important to consider that, just like when buying any animal, the purchase of Miniature Donkeys is a “Buyer Beware” market. If donkeys don’t ‘flock to you eagerly’ when visiting a Donkey farm, this signals a lack of human contact. The scenario at some local auction barns indicates neglect and lack of handling. Conformation is always important. We all want to be proud to exhibit our pets, even if it is in the back yard.
At Prairie Brae we do not sell jacks for pets unless they have been gelded.
It is our policy to sell intact jacks only into breeding programs. Breeders cannot emphasize enough the importance of gelding!! All animals leave the farm wearing a new halter, are halter trained, will trailer load easily, and be farrier friendly. Delivery arrangements are possible.
Prairie Brae Miniature Donkeys can provide a lifetime of joy, companionship and entertainment! Karl and Grace are devoted to the correct handling and proper training of Miniature Donkeys. They look forward to helping you purchase the best Miniature Donkey for your needs!

Circle C Bear Essential – Dark Brown - 32 ½”
We are offering Bear for sale this summer as we have several of his daughters in our group of breeding jennets. Bear has great bone structure & has given us many select foals (the reason for keeping the females in our program). As a 3 year old Circle C Bear Essential was Grand Champion in the World Miniature Donkey Show at the Calgary Stampede. This was a prestigious win for him, but from that time on his duty was at home. Again, the pedigree can be viewed at www.clrc.com.

Yorkleigh Farms Ranger Express (aka Taylor) is a trained performance gelding. He is six years old and stands at 34 ¾”. Taylor has winnings in many performance divisions. Performs well in harness and also in jumping events and has placed very well at halter.
He is an all around accomplished animal. As you can see from the pictures he is also gentle with children.
Congratulations to New Owners!
Congratulations to those who have purchased Prairie Brae Geldings.

Thank you to Amanda Christenson, Rocky Mountain House, AB for purchasing my special driving donkey Prairie Brae Klinger.
